In the first game between Vasas, Hungary and Japan, the Hungarians came out on top with a 13-8 victory.
The Japanese put up a good fight against the Hungarians with the scores tied at 7-7 going into the final quarter. Unfortunately, for the Japanese, the Hungarians came over the top in the final quarter; outscoring the Japanese six goals to one.
Robert Kovacs and Gabor Kis top scored for the game scoring three goals each.
Japanese goal keeper Naoki Shimizu had an incredible game in goals, making thirteen saves.
This result means Vasas and China will play tomorrow night in the Bronze Medal Match at 6:15. Japan will play a dead rubber tomorrow morning against the Barbarians and are out of the medals.
